Fields in the Foothills, Watercolor

Join in this live zoom class. Enjoy, demonstrations, follow along and lots of time to show your work and ask questions. Create vibrant paintings! Using watercolors on 140lb watercolor paper we will work on creating depth while painting fields of cops along the foothills.  If you have images you would like to work from, feel free on bring the photos to class. Beginners are welcomed and allowing your imagination to flow will be encouraged.

Watercolor paints in the tube is preferable – QoR brand made by Golden will give you a professional set of watercolors. Suggested pigments are:

Nickel Azo Yellow, Hansa Yellow Light, Quinacridone Gold Deep, Quinacridone Magenta, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Pyrrole Red Light, Phthalo Blue (Green Shade), Viridian Green, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Gray, Yellow Ochre, and Ultramarine Blue or French Ultramarine Blue sold as a set by QoR . 

You may also use any brand you are comfortable with but have at the minimum a red, yellow, blue and Quinacridone gold.

QoR brand can be purchased through Amazon and other online sellers and at Cheap Joes Art Supply (we recommend you call first to check on their stock before visiting in person.

  • two brushes #8 and #12 round watercolor brush

  • 140lb Arches watercolor paper cold press, We will be working on 5”x7” to 8”x10” sizes

  • An HB or 2B Pencil

  • Identi-pen permanent marker black

  • Other pens are good to have – metallic, white, black
