Watercolor and Collage – A Match Made in Heaven,
with Miriam Hughes
April 2 (10 AM-3 PM ET) 2022
Saturday, April 2nd (10am-3pm ET) 2022- $135 includes all materials, but feel free to bring anything from your own stash!
In this workshop we will learn how to revive, recreate and even start new watercolors, by adding collage elements to our paintings. We will also discuss how to recover from mistakes, either fixing them or incorporating them into your work. For beginners create watercolor sketches and learn how to go further with collage!
For those who have worked in watercolor, do you have a pile of watercolors where something just did not work, but you hate to throw it away? Or are you often faced with the decision to “do more” with a painting, but aren’t sure what more could be?
Watercolor is the perfect medium to mix with collage using a variety of exotic, handmade papers. We will incorporate papers from a variety of sources from old lottery tickets, newspapers, wrapping papers and even labels from our favorite (or not so favorite foods). Start collecting now and bring some of you own papers, however this workshop includes supplies and paper from Miriam’s treasure trove.
All levels of experience will enjoy this workshop and if you don’t have a stockpile of questionable work, we will create some pieces in class as your starting point!
We care about your safety! See our classroom safety protocols below

SAFETY PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS
Due to new CDC recommendations and our concern for everyone’s health and safety, we have new polices in place at this time.
All Participants must be vaccinated.
For the time being, we are resuming the wearing of masks both in the classroom and in the gallery. Please ensure that your mask is well-fitting and comfortable.
Please observe safe distancing at all times when in the classroom, in the gallery, arriving, departing and cleaning up in the sink area.
To ensure we do not exceed the number of people allowed in the classroom, arrive on time (not early) and depart on time when class is over.
Make sure you clean your table after class so things are sanitized for the next person. Cleaning products will be provided.
If you bring a meal to eat during the day, please do so outside on our loading dock (while observing social distancing), or in your car. We have removed our fridge, microwave, and water fountain so we suggest you bring a suitable lunch and your own water bottle. Personal water bottles may be used in the classroom, but must have a straw so that masks will not need to be removed.
DO NOT COME IF YOU ARE ILL, HAVE A FEVER, OR SUSPECT YOU HAVE COVID.
